TRANSLANGUAGING PRACTICES IN EFL CLASSROOMS: EVIDENCE FROM INDONESIA

چکیده

The aim of this paper is to elucidate a comprehensive perspective on translanguaging practices in EFL classrooms Indonesia by reviewing empirical literature published scientific journals and/or proceedings focusing four primary areas, which include: (1) research methodology, (2) advantages and disadvantages translanguaging, (3) languages used when (4) perceptions attitudes toward translanguaging. findings indicate all the studies under review were conducted through qualitative approach with instruments observations, interviews, questionnaire. Teachers students have benefit classrooms, yet it should be taken into account that L1 adopted judiciously. They translanguage using English, Indonesian, local even foreign other than English. voiced their agreement implementation as pedagogy since positively impacts teaching learning. However, few teachers contrasting views about voice. Suggestions for future are also discussed.
